A guy I know suggested I get these 'phones, and I did. They were cheap, and I figured since they don't insulate as much as my CX300s I'd use them at home and use the Senns outside.

I learned only later that they are counterfeited and/or leaked V-moda Vibes, but the package was already en route.

Aaanyway: they just arrived, and I tried them out... and I'm not impressed.
I've seen many people here praising the "open" sound, but (aside from the low insulation, which I expected) I like the sound of my CX300s much more.
The T25s' sound seems more like earbuds on steroids than proper canalphones...
I don't know the proper terms, but on average it seems to me they lack in bass and have too much treble... and they're just not as powerful. I'm not one of those people who fire up the latest techno remix and wind everything up to eleven, but even so they seem to lack some... grunt, for lack of a better word.

Am I just abnormal (which wouldn't surprise me in the least), or is this how T25s are supposed to sound?

I'll keep them, because I paid them €20 and they are still way ahead of earbuds, so I won't have to switch the CX300s around, but had I just shelled out €100 for a pair of genuine V-modas and got these results I'd be sorely disappointed...

I have no clue what the OVCs sound like but I will say this. It is easy to make a snap judgment on kit that sounds different from what we are used to. Yes, they may indeed be bad but listen to them exclusively for a couple of days and you may change your mind.

That or reinforce your dislike for them.

I just got a pair of the OVC T25 this week also. So far I like them a LOT better then my wife's Sharp MD-33's. I find them really comfortable and I'm not having a problem with a lack of bass.

I bought them as an inexpensive test to see if I'd like the Vibes. If I keep liking them as much as I have, I'm going to have to figure out if I which colour of Vibes I'm getting.

The CX300's exaggerated bass response makes them seem fuller-sounding at first listen, but once your ear accustoms itself to the T25/Vibes (as it would have to accustom itself to any new headphone), I think you'll find that the flatter response and greater detail of the Vibes will slowly make it hard to go back to the CX300. Even the bass is clearer on the T25/Vibe, to my ear. (I had ep-630 before my t25)

I've been listening to them for a few hours, and I grew more accustomed to them. I like them better now, but I still like the CX300 quite a lot more.
Time will tell.
The included 2.5-3.5 adapter is rubbish, though. I have to keep rotating it to get a correct contact. Will have to buy another one.
Also, I don't much like "hanging" wires such as the T25's. I much prefer behind-your-neck ones. Oh well; it won't make much of a difference, since as I said I plan on only using them at home.

The CX300 and the T25 tips are interchangeable, and after a bit of twiddling I've found the CX300 ones more comfortable, as they are softer.
Where can I get replacement CX300 tips so I can throw the T25 ones away? I looked on eBay but I can only find the actual headphones...

I bought them here.

can you post pics of them?

Sure.

Here they are out of the box with the adapter on:

There was no way of distinguishing between left and right. I understand it's a cheap leaked version, but jeez, would it have made them poor to print "L" and "R" on them to tell them apart?
I figured out which was which by listening to some songs with very different channels and I engraved "L" and "R" letters on their back with an engraving tool, so I won't get confused in the future.

Here you can see them with the tips of my CX300.

Sorry for the quality, but I didn't have the patience to drag out the tripod and the 500 watt floodlights, so I just took them hand-held with the flash and then corrected them on the PC.

I'm not a big fan of the adapter either. One more reason to upgrade to the original.

They do have that printed on them. Pull back or remove the tips and rotate them around looking at the narrow part that's blue. It's hard to pick it out since it's white on a light blue background.

That's a pretty good idea. It's damn hard to see the markings they have on and a better idea then might thought to add a dab of liquid paper to the back of one of them.

As far as I understand, they are the Vibes. They are made following the same project, which was leaked.
They are completely unauthorized, though.

Well, duh. Didn't look hard enough. Oh well...

thanks!!

Fantastic. I'm imagining a Kramer mod on these cheap OVCs and Vibes, making them sound even better.
