Well, I've tried the Ety ER6's out (finally)-- and unfortunately I will be taking Headroom up on their gracious return policy.

I am thoroughly underwhelmed with the ER6's, and this is after getting a good seal with the foamies. Flat, they are. Accurate, sure. But there is reallllly something missing from these things. I know the 4P's are supposed to be alot better, but I'm not shelling out the almost $300 to find out. I'll stick with my Shure E1's for $109-- they sound alot better in every aspect (other than isolation, which the ER6's are VERY good at). The E1's have more bass, less fatiguing highs, and don't sound "flat" in the way the ER6's do. Plus they are easier to get a seal with and their cord seems much more durable than the ER6's, and its far less microphonic, to boot.

So anyone looking to try the ER6's but don't want to go up to the price of the ER4's, look into the Shure E1's. I find them cleaner sounding with better separation than the E2's that Headroom sells. The E2's in comparison to the E1's, just sound like there's not enough high end.

just my .02

thanks!
