Got myself some HD580's

I never really felt the need to upgrade from my 495's but I saw someone selling his HD580's for only $60 so I thought, why not? I don't think I need to describe them, all I can say is that I have a big smile on my face right now that won't come off.

heh! I bet those 495's are a far cry from what the 580s are offering you now. Goed to hear someone else escaped the grasp of the 495s, though.. I listened to them and was seemingly unimpressed.

Yeah, I know I said the 580's are not a lot better than the 495's. I take that back, these are not only more detailed but also have better balance, imaging and comfort and are just so much more involving. Not even in the same class.

Only thing is these are very revealing, I can hear a buzzing/noisy sound I never heard before.. other than that my Sony FA3ES integrated amp drives them nicely (better than the headphone jack on my Marantz CD6000 and my Cmoy/Apheared 47).

An update:

I am addicted to my new 580's! They make me want to listen for hours and hours. Not because of the detail or for the sake of neutrality, but because they are so incredibly musical and make me appreciate my music even more.
