Hey guys,

finally after long long await i finally i got them..i cant still believe it..less than a year ago i was ecstatic to get my HD205 and thought it was the end of my journey.

i never thought i would really get to own HD600 which was like a lambhorgini for me in terms of my hobby..always drooling at their pics and reading their reviews.

anyway..finally i got them..the Seller sold them with HD650 cable and put the HD600 stock cable as well in the box.

used for around 3 months but free from any major scratch..the headband is little more stretched..maybe he kept them on books.

About Sound..i still havent heard lot of music to judge them.

but man..i heard some Pink Floyd, some AC/DC..

I never really liked Metal other than iron maiden... and man for the first time i enjoyed AC/DC truly.

the soundstage is much more natural than HD555...really closest i have heard a can get to a speaker.

Sufficiently burned in to enjoy but the owner told me they dont really much burn in ..is that true?

anyway for now its too early to judge them..let the experience marinate into me..then i ll tell how they sound to me.

Somethings i noticed easily:

Bass: Its not poor like somesay..infact its a very detailed bass..in some songs i could actually hear the bass synthesizer generating the Bass.

Mids:
Instruments tone was very neutral, there is a snappy effect in the plucks and not fluid like in HD650.

Treble: Much clear than i assume.. initially i thot they would be very warm..but there was a kind of Brightness in the High range.

the Percussions werent being rolled off like in my HD555 but very well produced and mild touch of brightness.

maybe its because i didnt see it coming.... it never was as bright/fatiguing like i felt in Grado SR80.

The fun is really in the details ...although they still retain the musicality and hence i really could enjoy and analyse the music at the same time.

One more thing... i used some cheezy music like Simple Plan - When I'm Gone...and i could hear flaws in the recording and how also had that Loudness in them.

If u want one headphone forever get these.

Pics for Drooling:

I really hope you get good source and amps to feed those. They truly deserve good amping to really make them sing.

Also, try them with good recordings of piano solos and really good classical altogether.

I, for one, is not going to bother with those until I get some really good tubes (Zana deux?).

Vinyl-ZD-HD600...Yummy.

I ve got iBasso D2 Boa as the DAC feeding the signal to my Desktop amp Crossroads Edge Amp.

they are not really as Amp hungry as many say...i mean Sound quality might not be perfect but they run loud and good enough to distinguish from any headphone.

Now i ve got one more year before i start working for myself..then i can get the recommended $1000 amp.

What music do u recommend for them?

again, Volume is not equal to sound quality. High-gain cmoy could drive HD650s or 600ohms DT880s to volume.

I really liked piano concertos and small ensemble on HD600 quite a bit.

I personally prefer the AKG K601/K340 for gaming; their soundstage reaches further out and is more believable. Bass extension of the Senns is amongst the best, though dynamics/speed is just average.

Congrats on the new toy anyway. Enjoy them with your favourite tunes.

Cheers!

I got my HD600 last Wednesday and I'm in love. These things sound great with any genre of music I listen to. Knowing that they can sound better than this is crazy. Mine were new so I'm still breaking them in. I can tell the sound is changing since I run the same set of songs through them everyday. Bass has definitely improved. For the first 6 days, the left channel sounded stronger but now they've evened out. I got my HD650 cable yesterday and while I can't honestly say I hear a difference, I think the better build quality was worth the price.
