Apparently what happened, is when UE was making my UE-10 Pro, they ran out of stock on the 62" (or was it 60"?) cord... so they sent me the shorter cord instead. This is why the cord length between the UE-10 and the 2X-S were almost the same.

However, they forgot to mention that particular fact to me, so imagine my surprise today when I got a cord in the mail, with a letter that said:

"Thank you for being patient, enclosed is the Cord you had originally ordered."

Yeah, I was a little confused, thinking I had received some strange present of some form. I called back their customer service, and they promptly confirmed what I had suspected. Now this is a true 60-some odd inch cord, and it is much longer than the 2X-S's cord.

Won't make that much difference in my daily usage now... I still desire that 2X-S had a longer cord, but it's still what I would use on a daily basis. However, it's nice to know that Ultimate Ears followed up on a order that's months old.

That's nice. I got two 10' long clear cables. They shipped both to me after a few weeks from the day I first requested these custom length cables. By the way, I only requested one but I got another one too.

This is good news about UE's customer service, but they should have told you what had happened to begin with rather than letting you wonder. My experience with them has been positive, but nothing like the ravings about being treated like a rosk star (etc., as others have reported). In fact, they never once initiated any contact with me, which I found surprising. When I sent my moulds in, I had to follow up about a week later to make sure that they got them. Likewise, when they sent out the UE10-Pros. I would have thought they would have confimed via email that the package (of such high value) had gone out, along with a tracking number. No complaints, mind you, I'm just reporting that my 'customer service' experience with UE has been extraordinarily average.

Welly, it's nice to know about the custom lengths. I'll probably order a longer cord myself. I've been using the UE's at night for an hour or so pre-sleep listening session while lying in bed. They are connected to a very heavy Sonic Horizons Hurricane headphone extension cable, so the weight differences between the UE and Hurricane cables becomes an issue if I fidget too much (a tugging effect). This problem could be eliminated with an extra long UE cable.

I'm thinking about giving the Sensa's a try as well. I'm one of the UE band wagon jumpers who probably should have waited for lindrone's review before making a decision. While I've found the UE10-Pros to be 'nice' and not lacking in any particular way, I've not been blown away by them in the R10 or Omega II sense. Maybe my expectations were too high.

Good to hear.

lindrone: If you only ordered your Sensas with the break away cable, you could order any length you like.

Hehee.. I thought about converting to the breakaway cable a couple of times, but I think the integrated cable is still more for my taste

Definitely, it's nice that they did follow up properly.. but if they had notified me of what happened in the first place, I wouldn't have been completely baffled by the similar cord lengths when I was writing up my reviews.

Oh well...
