hey guys, I picked up a plinius 9100 integrated amp...this thing is sweet! no speakers yet...fresh out of the box, havn't even heard it...and I wanna mod!

I know the usual capicitor switch is possible, but I want to see about opamp switching as well. Here are some relevent pics, with the relevant parts indicated. Let me know if you'd like more!

Thos opamps on that heatsink are identical on the other side...so I suppose that'd mean 4x C3263 and 1x C4495 per channel.

Any ideas?

Well, those on the heatsink, I do not think they are op-amps. Looks more like FETs.

TL072CP is a dual op-amp, TL071CP is a single op-amp. It looks like they are mounted on sockets, which should make op-amp rolling easy.

I would not go through the trouble of replacing the two caps you picked out.
From what I can see of the design, the middle of the amp (area around the 10000uf caps) is the power supply section. The areas at the left and right are the power section for the speaker outputs, and the part right of the transformer and the PCB by the inputs are probably preamplifier section. If I were you, i'd upgrade those red caps since they look to be in the signal path. Also, the cap next to the MOSFET that's in the pre-amp section, that looks like a power cap too. It seems they use the nicer red caps in the signal path.

All those red caps are already Elna Cerafines...I'm happy with those! Will definetly be opamp rolling, most likely with some AD8620's and an AD8610.

Thanks for the input!

You need to try to figure out the purpose those opamps are serving in the amp. They may be doing things other then audio chores. They could be DC servos or similer, in which case replacing them might not be a good idea.

At least no sound improvement, but better DC specs. probably. But 5 mV out, nothing to waste money on to improve.

I was thinking about replaceing the power caps. They are currently "nippon chemi con" brand 63V 10000uf. If I were to grab some Cerafine or something of the same size, how big would that be? I don't really want to have to cut a hole in the cover....
