Well it uses the Aqstic codec like HTC 10, so can do 192/24 so that's something. But the quality of the amp section remains to be seen, if it wants to be on par with HTC 10 it will need 1.2v power output. Seems like a good phone though.

Should aptX HD be supported, we can only hope ToTL headphones start coming with Bluetooth features and 24bit/192kHz like this AK-beyerdynamic one in the making into the market fast enough to save our pockets:http://www.head-fi.org/t/821419/hd-bluetooth-tesla-headphones-from-ak-beyerdynamic-24-bit-aptx-hd-2016-ifa God speed and no wires/adapters/interconnects.

Very simple.... Moto never made any money for Google and they knew that from the outset. Google were after Moto's patents that they could use to offset and defend against Apples patent attacks on Android licences. Very clever move

While definitely a patent play and a very good one, it would seem in retrospect if Google truly wants to be a hardware company that hanging on to Moto and reorganizing it for the future might have been a better bet than taking a huge multi billion $ write off.

If Google weren't so flush with cash, that Moto deal would have been a disaster, very few companies can just elect to lose billions on something in such a short period of time. Clever patent strategy yes, but also an enormous cash loss. Wasteful.

The whole marketing stance of "Made By Google" with this new Pixel phone is quite misleading, it isn't made by Google at all, the device is manufactured by HTC, no?

Full disclosure, I don't seek a thread war, am not an Apple fan boy, and I do like my Moto X Pure/Marshmallow. I'm also well aware that Apple does not actually manufacture their own devices, but they also don't market them as "Made By Apple".

Gaining control over the user experience does make perfect sense of course, Google long ago hit a fork in the road with the largest Android phone maker, Samsung.

I root for the Pixel to do well and for Google to be a "maker" of viable iPhone alternatives, it can only push innovation and benefit the consumer. But "Made By Google" is a load of c**p, the Pixel is made by HTC.

Hey dude. Agree its not a tread war. Hate them! And concur re your statement "made by Google" Do think that it will be interesting to see how it all plays out. Well for the SQ now that's a different story.

I guess we'll know about the SQ soon enough. I don't have particularly high hopes there.

Plus, they didn't say anything about it so i guess it will be average not more........even when brands advertise stuffs like "best audio" blabla it's still nothing impressive (ex: LG V20) so when they don't say anything it's hard to believe we will see any impressive audio out there
