Legendary record producer Tom Dowd--who worked with such artists as Eric Clapton, Ray Charles, the Allman Brothers, and Aretha Franklin, among others--died Sunday (October 27) at the age of 77.

What a big loss. He produced some of my favorite records.

Dowd really had an impressive career. A true unsung hero who's efforts touched millions.

Oh no!!!!

This guy was legendary for producing classic 60's soul music from the deep South. A great loss. Some of the most uplifting, soulful and heart-felt music ever recorded came out of his studio.

I think the Rolling Stones even produced material with him in the late 60's also, circa "Brown Sugar". Could be wrong about that one.
