Hi all, i'm looking for good, universal and comfortable for medium head headphones for under 230$. Preferred neutral sound. I could buy Sennheiser HD 598 for 113$. but I was read very mixed reviews about them. Maybe there is something better for under 200-230$? Genres: Acoustic, orchestral, symphonic/heavy metal, rock, some piano... Yeah, I need pretty universally headphones

  Beyerdynamic DT770 - 80 Ohms

Hmm, and I forgot to say that I have some suggestions to design. The fact that I have some problems with my hands and so I want headphones with a minimum of moving parts. On these headphones, seems to be moving cups. And, I doubt that 0404's amp had power to power these headphones. Sorry for my bad english.

I'm looking for X1, but it seems for bassheads, not very neutral.

The X1 is not very neutral.

Consider the AKG K7XX instead. One day left on this: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/akg-k7xx-massdrop-first-edition-headphones. Learn more here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/743280/the-akg-k7xx-massdrop-first-edition-thread. These headphones will need a headphone amp.

You can find the original Senn Momentum Around the ear for that money now that the new version is out. Won't find a phone near as good for that money

They only move up and down, as all headphones do, for adjustment - this is the bare minimum for nearly all headphones. The only exceptions that I know of would be AKGs with the self-adjusting headbands (and similar other headphones), in which case some don't like the pressure on the headband pad on top of their heads, but technically they still have moving parts, except it adjusts when you put them on. The only one I know of would be the Jecklin Float.

Also, you need to be aware that depending on use you might have to replace earpads at some point, or at least remove and wash them, then put them back on. Depending on the design this might be more difficult to do given your condition. You might be better off using speakers.

Unfortunately, they stopped shipping to Russia.

It's fine. For me, the main thing, that headphones don't have freely movable cups. I had headphones with such movable cups, they are constantly hanging down. When I put headphones on my head, I hold on to the headband, and I cant't control the position of the cups at the same time.

Yeah, it would be good if they can be easily removed.

Maybe, but good speakers isn't for my small room. As I see it, they do not reveal their potential on the table in my room.

Those sound like something a cheap headphone would do; I personally haven't used any that flimsy. And as far as cheap headphones go I have a Superlux HD330 and it's basically a rip off of the Beyers, and it doesn't do that either - in fact they feel as sturdy as my Sennheiser HD600 save for the cheap padding and the clip-on drivers (they don't lock as securely as the Sennheisers' drivers for example). If I hated the drivers on these I'd mount a new driver, but not really necessary.

The only ones I know that are easy to remove are Grados. Everything else involves either pushing in the earpads into some kind of locking mechanism (and some AKGs for example use asymmetrical earpads), or the earpads have some kind of elastic belt in the rear that grips a protruding lip on the earcup, kind of like a Grado but harder to put on. I needed both hands to stretch an earpad around the rim of my HD330.

Most people here live in smaller homes vs those people with dedicated speaker rooms in other forums, ergo a different kind of speaker. A nearfield monitor is designed to be used from a closer sitting position. They're originally for professional monitoring but nowadays a lot of people use the same kinds of speakers at home, and some brands have come up with powered speakers designed for the same kind of seat position but look a lot more like the usual speakers. Found a couple of pics through Google:

Here's a small home studio
