Hi, I just got my rebate check for the broken wheel on my karma ($303!) and so i think i'm going to drop it on a 60gig ipod. Is now a good time to purchase, or should i wait for the 6g? I haven't exactly been keeping up. thanks

I have a 3G 40GB and I'm getting itchy too. Apple just concluded their huge expo "MacWorld" in San Francisco two weeks ago, and nothing new iPod-wise was announced. I'm betting that if we wait we'll be waiting until July when Apple has a similar gig every year in New York City. I think that I'm waiting...

Huh? My iTunes Ready videos are now no longer playable on my 5G iPod. They played before, but will not give me any audio since 'upgrading' to new firmware. I'm pretty pi**ed

had to go through the same thing (two weeks ago actually ordered and cancelled and ordered again)... thing with apple is you know they're going to release something its just a matter of when....

just couldnt stand walking around school w/o a dap. (anti-social/socially inept [probably why I like the solitude of headphones so much])

But there is a 30yr anniversary around the corner and a few other things in the next 4 months for apple...

My advice... if you have the patients I'd say wait. I might suggest you look through ebay for some apple coupons/gift cards cheap and then order the ipod through the educational website once a new one is released/you've bought enough giftcards and or coupons.

Why not go back to the old firmware?

Actually I'm now just using 'export' out of QT Pro. Works OK.
