Hello, I was thinking of getting the Pioneer AP-BS21-LR bookshelf speakers
for my computer in college.
First, do you really need a "bookshelf" to fit these speakers? I only have a small bookshelf here, and was wondering if I could just put them on my desk.
Second, I was thinking of buying a subwoofer for these, but 100 dollars or under. I know subwoofers aren't really good at this price point, so I was wondering whether I really should get subwoofers with these or just get the speakers themselves. Are the Pioneers okay by themselves?

I'm in a single so noise or whatever is fine.

1. No as long as the tweeters of those bookies are more or less around your ear levels
2. I would really save up and hit at least $200 where options open up with the BIC F12, Energy 10.3 and Polk PSW505 to name a few ^^

Agreed. About the cheapest I would go is the Velodyne VX-11. The subs selling for around $100 just aren't very good values. It's worth waiting if you can to get something a little better.
