I've current got an ATH SJ55 connected directly to an iPod Touch 4. I'll hopefully be going to Singapore on a family vacation and I hope to find something there to enhance my current rig.

What would you guys suggest? I'll probably have a maximum budget of  $180 for this.

ahh what exactly do you want? i suggest you read first about the wonderful world of audiophilia...

start from basics:
the common termonologies (lows, mids, highs/ bass, vocals, trebble/ etcetc),
getting good music files (lossless vs lossy),
then headphones, (ohms, diff types, brands and stuff),

then amplifiers, DACs, etcetc..

the last time i went there, i deeply regret not buying the sony xb series headphones for the bass lovers, (rarely sold here in the country), saw some sansa players there too, wish i bought one, and lastly they had a sale on one of the Headphones Gallery, selling the shure 440 for 90 SGD, which retails here at PHP 4,000, which unfortunately i passed up :(

Sorry about that.

My current set-up is just as I said above. An iPod Touch 4 and a pair of ATH-SJ55 cans.

I listen to pretty much any genre as long as it has good music. Currently I'm listening more to Power Metal, Live albums, Steampunk and some Pop like OneRepublic and Coldplay. I also got some Electronica (mainly Daft Punk) and a couple of other random songs that I like to practice singing to.

The majority of my files are in 320 kbps mp3 while some are in FLAC. I usually favor the mp3's at the moment since I don't have any apps that allow me to play FLACs on my iTouch.

I'm looking for any component (amp, DAC, etc.) that would complement what I currently have or barring that, what pair of headphones can play almost any genre equally well. I know about the ATH-M50 but its a bit too expensive for me. I'm only able to spend a maximum of PHP 8,500 since I'm just a fresh graduate who's about to gain his license in ECE.

Any thanks would be greatly appreciated.
