Hi,
I need a good sealed headphone. I'm looking at the senn hd25 and the AKG 271 ST. I need em' to work unamped (Source notebook & Pc). I have a hd595. Like the sound of it, searching for something similar, but with sealed design.
which one would you choose?

i don't know about the AKG, but the HD 25-1's have a more exaggerated sound than the 595's and a much smaller soundstage. i enjoy both, even though the 595's provide a lot more refinement.

Have you looked at the Audio-Technica range? They are experts when it comes to closed designs.

The K81DJ can be power-hungry and works better with an amp (it'll drain any portable devices you have faster than other headphones). As long as your source is AC-powered though, it should be fine.

You might also consider the Audio Technica ATH-FC7, Sony MDR-V6, or Sennheiser HD 280.

Thanx for the answers.. My last question is, how does the soundstage compare of the k81dj compare to the hd595?

I'm burning in the k81 dj. I'm happy with theese phones. I'm curious how the sound will change after 100+ hours of music.
Thanx for your posts!
