I was taking apart my crappy Ratshack/Optimus DJ mixer (which serves as my preamp) to fix a broken ground wire when the irresistable urge to tinker struck. It has several NJM4558LD opamps which I'd like to replace, unfortunately they're in SIP-8, and none of the opamps which I'm familiar with (other than the NJM4556, which probably wouldn't be much of an improvement) come in SIP-8. Does anyone have a recomendation for a suitable replacement?

4580 are manufactured in SIP too, they were in friend's Kenwood CD player.. they're probably the best in SIP - otherwise you must buy some DIP->SIP converting boards..

NEC makes several dual op-amps in the SIP-8 package, but this package is definitely a dying breed and only the Japanese ever really used it. You can sift through their op-amp selection at the website below and see if they still offer any op-amps in the SIP-8 package. Good luck... you'll need it.

You could make an adapter on perfboard without much trouble. I believe the SIP pinout is the same as the DIP, just "unwrapped". Get some right-angle header pins and put them along one edge of the perfboard and wire each one to a DIP socket higher up on the board.
