I heartily recommend both Headroom and Meier Audio......it depends on how quickly you want to receive them.

Probably Headroom as they are based in the US. Meier Audio is in Germany.

For things like customer service, including a good return policy, I agree that HeadRoom (headphone.com) is a great choice. If you're not sure you'll keep them and want a way out, this is the way to go. But, if you want the lowest price, and you probably know this already, it's not the best option by far. Other etailers like B&H Photo have them for less ($145 not including shipping). They're a legitimate brick&mortar business with high customer satisfaction. Of course, Meier Audio has a somewhat better price ($145 including shipping).

If I were sure that I wanted them, and was willing to accept the risk of not liking them, then I wouldn't pay the extra for shopping at Headphone.com.

I bought a pair of Etymotic ER-4P earphones from them, out of curiosity, and ended up returning them because they weren't good enough at $270. In that case, HeadRoom was the right choice for me.

But since I'm usually a cheap person, I'll almost always go with the lowest price. When I bought the DT 770s, I bought them used from another Head-Fi'er. This is a good option if you're not too hung up on the notion of getting new stuff.

If I were going to buy the 770s new, I'd probably go with Meier. B&H will cost a bit more ($7-8) because of the added shipping, but it's likely to get there faster. I would choose to wait longer and save money. If you don't want to wait 2 weeks, B&H is a good choice.

B&H has a very good reputation. They're one of the few reputable camera shops in NYC. I ordered a lens from them in December and had no trouble. Shipping is quite reasonable.

B&H is a great place to buy from (when you know what you want). But, I do NOT believe they will take the phones back if you don't like them, whereas Headroom will. For defective mechandise, B&H offers excellent customer service.

But for all-around customer service, it's hard to imagine any place as good as Headroom.
