Good headphones for ipod classic

Hey There

I have an ipod classic what headphones would you recommend the previous versions the volume limit on classic is lower then this one, I listen to rock/alternative

I have a budget of about $300 no earphone recommendations please

I listen at work and on the tube so noise cancellation would be a bonus,looking for excellent sound quality

There are so many threads about this.

$200 on new or used phones (you can get a way better deal if you buy used on the FS foums) and the rest, $100-150 or so on a headphone amp. I'm assuming your going to be using this portably so you shouldn't have a problem finding small headphone amps in the FS.
