Alright. Last week was horrible for my wallet. After paying the final shipping price for my D-626 and D-311, I put in a token bid on a pair of CD3000s starting at $200 with a max of $220.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ory=40137&rd=1

Seemed like that would probably be a good price (though some lucky buggers have gotten them cheaper). I then see Hajime's wonderful Maxed-Out Meta42 that he had for sale. Instinct takes over, and I buy it immediately. So I now find myself with almost no money.

All this time, I'm expecting I'll be outbid by someone else on the CD3000s. Someone quickly raised the bid up to $217.50, very close to my max bid. I sit back and let the week go by, all the while noticing that nobody's outbid me. I notice another few things along the way. 1) The seller has never sold anything on eBay before. 2) He only has 9 positive feedbacks. 3) He got a negative feedback a few days after I put in my bid.

Aw, f%$*. I win the auction, pay for the phones and never expect to see my money again. Lo and behond, I actually get them this afternoon, in great condition and perfectly playable...they may not even be fully broken in.

: These things are going to eat my head. Can't wait to hook them up to the Meta and D-626 or D-311. Oh my poor wallet. Still have to find some good interconnects...those Warmouths look good...

Anyone want some AKG 501s?

Heh, psx, those last few pictures on your page are hilarious. That's about how I feel when I have them on my head. Gotta make myself a custom icon for these...

No, they weren't new. The case is 99% new (it's rather easily scuffed), and the headphones have no noticable markings.

Merton, go mow some more lawns.

damn, I paid a bunch more than you and mine were very used. The pads were worn, there are markings on the leather headband and the case is probably 80% new.

I still haven't fully verified that they sound like they're supposed to, but that will have to wait until after burn-in.

Yes, that is quite the impressive deal. I wanted to bid on the very auction you won, but decided against it just because of the condition of the pads. One's loss is another's gain though. ^_^
