Hi there, name's huxley as it clearly says on the left and i own a 2gb black ipod and love it to bits and was on the lookout for a decent forum for emi's and stubled onto this little place

Im into all kinds of music but i love hans zimmerman and currently listening to jewelled by propaganda

I get my music from itunes...drm yeah i know but quality is good and they're a good source for obscure bands
i had the snoy mdr 71 emi's and found them to be good but now use sennheiser cx300 buds and at first i hated them but now they're run in i love e....much more detail and brighness and not as boomy

Welcome to Head-Fi and sorry 'bout your wallet.

Many of us "stumbled" in here. Little did I know I'd spend the amount of money I did, and still hang out here for nearly two years. Enjoy the scenery. If you haven't yet, search this forum for the post your picture thread to see some of the faces behind the names. Also, check out the meets forum to see if there are any members in your area getting together. It's a great way to meet new people and try out some gear.

You wouldn't happen to be into the Neo-Geo or GP32/GP2X, would you?

nah fraid not, i do like retro and the ng is a classic but the carts costed an obscene amount, shame as i loved fatal fury

i did think of getting a gp32 and emulate the ng but i plumped for a white psp which ive now sold on, the screens lcd refresh rate got on my nerves, everything looked so blurry

Although here in the UK the meets are few and far between doesn't mean to say that they don't happen. There was a thread in the meets forum about trying to create a new UK meet (the first one was last year) but wait around here a while and you'll find out that there are plenty of head-fier's that live around the UK as well as the rest of the world.

Maybe you'll find that there's someone who lives close enough that you can pop round and try somethings out.

Would be great to try a headphone amp like the hornet with a cryo dock but we'll see

Did a bit of looking and so far the closest possible was up london/surrey way and that's 330miles for me

Well I'm not sure whether there are any head-fiers anywhere closer but I do know that (along with my folks) I tend to take holidays down cornwall/devon/somerset area so the next time I'm down then you can always check out my portable gear.

Admittedly that'd mean waiting a fair while as I'm unlikely to be going on holiday again till next Spring/Summer at the earliest but the offers there if your interested.

The added snag (at the moment anyway) is that I have 1 portable amp (PA2V2) and a couple of portable headphones (E2c & KSC75) but no DAP at the moment as mine was stolen a couple of days ago.

However it shouldn't be too long before I start with the upgradeitis (which seeing as I've got nothing to play music portably at the moment I imagine will kick in very strong and hard!!) so I'll probably end up with an iPod which will then lead to a custom dock from somewhere (and I'm too very tempted by the hornet)
