I’m not really leaving -I'm just trying to keep my wallet in my pants. When I was much younger it was something else, but that's another story. I fell down this rabbit hole 9 short months ago searching for reviews of Gary’s PA2V2 amp. Little did I know there are so many more HP amps. Actually, I knew this long ago but lost interest when I returned a HeadRoom amp because I thought it didn't make much difference. There’s plenty left to hear, but after going down the path of Diminishing Returns I find myself peering into an abyss where the connection between value and price plunges into nothingness and this is making me dizzy so I'm stepping back for awhile to give myself a chance to refill my wallet.
Thanks to you I have some good amps: PA2V2, Go-Vibe5, Headphonia and the LD MKIV SE and some you don't approve of: The Panasonic SA-XR55 and PreSonus HP4. And some good phones: KSC-75s, IM616s, Ety4P/S, US2200s, K501s, K501.1s, K701s, HD600s and Lambda Pros (1983), and some I returned: iGrados, PX100s, IM716s, SR325is, SA5000s and tiny AT woodies which kept popping away from my ears. I bought a bunch of Chinese knock offs for $65 and some like Sony 888s ($12) turned out to be real and others weren’t, but as many of you know, audio goodies from China are always fun to receive. I recall my first post when I asked about IM716 discomfort and feared you'd rip me to shreds or worse, ignore me entirely, but you didn’t. You patiently answered my questions even though they had been asked many times before.
Now I’m so comfortable here I’ll post rambling things like this that seem to be going nowhere, but I really do have a reason for writing and that’s to thank all of the wonderful people who make HeadFi one of the most friendly, informative and EXPENSIVE stops on the NET. Now, where's that wallet?
