What headphones are you using? A headphone upgrade might be more advantageous than an amp.

I currently have the sr60.

I prefere playing music from my laptop instead of my main box (equipped with an old school sound blaster platinum)

I have a single OTL tube amp connected to my laptop, but I don't see much difference

yeah but's no one actually has the 3 large or so it takes to get one. not to mention it only works with 2 headphones that you don't seem to own. i say upgrade the sound card.

personally i run a usb interfacing m-audio sonica theatre. beats the crap out of the soundmax integrated audio on my desktop. for pci cards they seem to like the m-audio revolution here, though i've never heard it, i believe in it.

Don't know if this is true, but from what I hear, the SR60s don't really need an amp... but it's probably true that the sound will improve with one, you just might not notice it :p

If you want to go DIY, I think that a META Mint would be great. It's small, sounds amazing, and is robust enough to be versitile for different applications, and it's small enough to be easily transportable.

If you don't want to build one, you can always post a WTB in the F/S forum. Plus, they don't cost *that* much to build.

You might be able to get a used one for a good price in the F/S forum.

so there is no way I can make it as small as the mint meta unless I buy their pcb right?

or I somehow design a pcb which is not worth trying?
