Well, mostly aggressive, but I'de like to find some piano. I've found I LOVE the Grado sound with Piano, and would like to explore what that genre has to offer...

Here's the kinda stuff I'm looking for when I say "aggressive".

It's M4P format, so you'll need iTunes

A couple of my favourite latin jazz players, Gonzalo Rubalcaba and
Michel Camilo, are quite aggressive.

I could list a ton more, but I don't want to overwhelm you, and I think either of these guys is a great place to start. Ok, one more; Eddie Palmieri!

Don't really like the word "aggressive." Do you mean "loud"? "Fast"? "Kinetic"? "Atonal"? "Dynamic"? "Vertiginous"?

Phineas Newborn, Jr.
Solo Piano
Please Send Me Someone To Love

Anthony Davis
Lady of the Mirrors

Jaki Byard
Hi-Fly

Maybe one of those piano rolls by Conlon Nancarrow

These just came off the top of my head; so many more.

melodia.com / OMAR SOSA

Listen to long (several minute) samples from the albums "Pictures of Soul" and "Ayaguna". Piano/prepared piano and percussion. Try Kachirumba and Trace of Burning Stars.

There's lots of mellower stuff here too, but these are great albums.

I've just found that many of the piano pieces from Danny Elfman are pretty good and are somewhat what I'm looking for.

Tru Blu...awesome recs!!!

Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No. 3

Martha Argerich is famous for being dynamic and aggressive on keyboards and she lets it out on this one.

If you haven't already, check out Beethoven's "Appassionata", Chopin's "Polonaise" and "Preludes" also.
