Just got the KSC75, modded them before trying them out.
And yeah, i love them. I prefer them over any off my other phones (HD570, K26p, EP630)

I'm just lacking a bit off bass, a tiny bit punch would be awesome. Is the Goldring DR150 a good stepup? I heard people saying that it was sorta similiar to the KSC75.

Thanks!

If you like the sound signature of the KSC75's you will enjoy the Docs a lot. The docs are very forward and grado-like in presentation. The bass and lower end in general is punchy, but definitely not booming in the bass department. IMO, it has a bit more punch than the 75's but don't expect the bass to be like DT770's

That's ok, I just want it to be there a bit more than the KSC75, but i really dont want the "bassyness" off the HD570, thats the reason im moving away from them.

Thanks again!

I third the suggestion.

Its a huge step in the right direction IMO.

Be sure to do the Grille Cloth removal mod on the DR150 if you decide to go for it.

x4

I just recently got DR150's --my first good headphones after doing a lot of research. I love them - still burning them in and am going to remove the cloth next to see if they get even better. Meanwhile, since I had read so many great things about the ksc-75's, I decided to get a pair for my brother. Of course, I tried them out and was really impressed. I thought they sounded very similar to the DR150's. First listen, I thought maybe they were even as good, so I compared. No doubt, and obviously, the dr150's sounded better, but mostly that was because of soundstage and generally wider, fuller sound. Sonically, the KSC75's were very similar, I thought. Unfortunately, I can't recall how close the bass was, but I was satisfied with both, and clean bass is pretty important to me.

I think you will like them, and even though they are not closed cans, they do offer some isolation from outside noises where the ksc75's do not.

Report back if you go for it!

Oh man, getting excited here ;P
Going to get a good listen to these tomorrow/saturday, and probably buy them.

Zephyron: How well does the D2 drive them without an amp? I have the D2, and while the DR150 is going to be used mainly at home, it would be nice if it performed decent/good with the D2.

Thanks again, I think I finally found the perfect headphone for my budget/taste :]

As swt61 said, the Docs are easy to drive.

The DR150 sounds fine out of the D2, and even better with the grille cloth removal mod.

Out of a line-out/D2 @ Gain 0 (vol 49, Line-out simulation)/ Alien DAN w/ TI2704 -> synergizing amp (IME, PINT w/ AD8397, Audio Technica ATH-HA20 and Xenos 1HA-EPC), it sounds absolutely stellar to me. Runs along and holds its own against the AKG K701 and DT880 IME and IMO.

I liked them best with the 1HA-EPC however.
