I Have decided to make a new thread of this as currently everyone has been posting in the bartok thread. This is an extremely important topic in our hobby/industry.

Dcs is going after goldensound for his negative review of the dcs bartok he made 3 years ago in 2021. You can watch the videos here explaining what has happened and also the original bartok review he published:

It was only GoldenSound having negative reviews of one product and now we all are negative towards dCS, quite a feat. to pull off, congrats dCS.

Isn’t it also a single person (John if I remember right) that wrote those emails? Perhaps those are actions of a single entity higher up that has misrepresented the whole company needlessly. Speculating, cause of course handing things over to a lawyer surely needed some other people approval I guess

Check Google reviews too, people are piling up one star reviews of them over the lawsuit. It's going to haunt them worse than one review ever could.

should this be the case then dCS needs to enter the conversation. Now it has only been a couple days but I would expect if this is the result of an exec going rouge we'd be hearing from someone high up in dCS shortly.

This is extremely unfortunate for all. Golden Sound, DCS, and us the consumer. I highly value both Golden Sound and his really in-depth and informative reviews and I have had nothing but praise for DCS products and the company itself over years for having their products. I think they are outstanding in many ways. I have had a Bartok and thought it was wonderful and would buy one with the Apex upgrade today.

I hope these guys can work this out quickly. I would hate to see our hobby get polarized and people start taking sides with reviewers and manufactures etc. Its not helpful to us the Buying public. We have enough stuff to research and get through before we spend out money and would hate to see angst and agendas introduced by any side enter into the enjoyment of the hobby by have these things spill out into the forums. It seems there may be more to this than what is apparent on the surface I don't know? In any case DCS and Golden, I would encourage you both to take this off line, settle it and simply report back to us all that you guys have resolved your concern and are cut off all the potentially negative chills something like this can add to the Hobby.

Assuming the email chain is accurate and in context (which I do), dCS has a lot to answer for. This ordeal has put me off the company so entirely I can't foresee a time in the future where I'd ever consider one of their products, as reviewer or consumer.

In a typical organization, one person in Marketing wouldn’t be able to engage legal counsel without someone in an executive role in operations being at least aware and most likely complicit. I really want to believe that it was one person and they’ll probably try to blame it on that one person, but I honestly doubt it.

I wish a lawyer would tell dcs this is covered by the 'fair comment' special defence and they will lose in court if they go that far.
