w/ Ronnie James Dio and Motorhead.

I'll post some thoughts tomorrow.

this will be my 3rd time seeing Maiden (2nd w/ Bruce)

I've never seen Dio before, should be interesting.

Wow, I didn't know they were touring. Let us know how it is. I might just have to get some people together and drive to Chicago on Sunday...

I forgot to mention, the band is saying that this is their last "Big" tour.. after this summer, they will be doing smaller tours and hitting only the major cities. So if you're not near a major city, this might be your last chance to see 'em live without traveling too far.

Motorhead and Ronnie James Dio both rocked. Not much else to say, except, I was surprised that Dio's voice was still in fine shape. The best songs were "Mob Rules" and "Stand Up and Shout" though he did play his other hits too.. "Last In Line," "Rainbow.." and "Holy Diver/Heaven and Hell" nice sets.

Here's the Iron Maiden set list:

Number of the Beast
The Trooper
Revelations
Die with your Boots On
Hallowed By Thy Name
Wildest Dreams (new song - not bad)
Wickerman
The Clansman
The Clairvoyant
Fear of the Dark
Iron Maiden
encore:
2 Minutes to Midnight
Run to the Hills

it was a pretty short set for Maiden, though they were rockin! They haven't lost anything. "Heaven Can Wait" and/or "Powerslave" would have been the icing on the cake, but you can't have everything.

I was gonna post in the Melodies good enough to be a national anthem thread that the United States national anthem should be "Run to the Hills" by Iron Maiden, but I was scared of all the private messages I would probably get.

Hope you have a kick ass time Masonjar, and let us know how it went.
