I am in the process of researching and will soon be purchasing a tubed amplifier for use with both speakers, and my AKG K1000's.
I could use a bit of advice as noted above, in what I need to watch out for in matching my existing tubed preamp with a soon to be purchased tube power amplifier (preferably monoblocks).

I'm not new to quality tubed amplification, but my previous systems were built around integrated amps, so I am lacking a bit in knowledge of how to match sensitivity/impedance, or whatever is important, when dealing with seperates.

Here are the specs of my preamp:

10-81000hz
T.H.D.<0.1%
SN ratio >90db
input sensitivity 0.5-1.0V
gain 15db

Amplifiers that I am considering include the AES/Cary Six Pacs, the Meridian M60 monoblocks, and I am also looking at a number of SET amps including the Manley Neo-Classic SE / PP 300B, and the upcoming Almarro monoblocks.

I would greatly appreciate any help with this. Thanks.

If you're thinking about monoblocks, you need to worry about finding a decent match with the speakers that they will be driving a lot more than worrying about matching with against your current preamp.

The speaker matching is well covered. I need some information about how to match the preamp with amplifiers I am considering.
