So right now I have the Sony A-728 with a crossroads amp and also an E270. I went to sony style today and tried out the MDR-V6's. I was very impressed and they were 110$ there(although I know I can get them for ~60 online). I wanna know if I should go for those or just make the step up to the DT770s. Also, are there any other cans I should look @ besides the 2 I mentioned?
Thanks.

depends what exactly your looking for, i love my beyers, and if anything goes wrong they're very nice to work with.

my 770 pro's right driver was making odd noises at really low frequencies - they fixed them for free and i got them back within a week from when I shipped them away :P

Both are excellent cans. If you go with the V6's, I'd definitely do the DT250 Velour pad mod. I had 7506's first (same as V6's) and then upgraded to my DT770's. I had both for a while and went back and forth. The 7506's always held their own.

Beyers, but that's basing it on only hearing the Sonys...I didn't like them too much. They were well broken in, but just didn't have the accuracy and control I like. Sounded a bit muddy, but nowhere near as bad as the V700 DJ cans I had before. The V6's were then modded (defoamed), and they sounded more in control, but a lot more like an AKG can...very bright and lacking in bass.
