what kind of music/headphones best suit the gilmore lite?

i prefer more bass. usually listen to hip-hop, r&b, and pop. main headphones are senn hd650s.

i currently use a headsave ppa/steps, but i've been interested in the glite from day one...just don't have the money to compare them myself.

any opinions would be appreciated.

thanks.

I've had the Gilmore Lite with Dedicated Power Supply Unit for a couple of years now.

I and others on headfi have described this amp as neutral and clear - not particularly warm - just accurate, which actually suits the 650 quite nicely as it (along with the Cardas headphone cable for the 650) eliminates any so-called veil the 650 has been described to have as a small fault.

The result is a warm and fun but clear and accurate sound.

The Gilmore Lite is not going to give you more bass than your source produces. It will just reproduce the signal it is given. If you want more bass, I would look at the Beyers that produce a lot of bass.
