I got some EX70s today horrible sound. After the silver mod the sound was better but theres still a little too much bass. Has anyone figured out anyways to lower the bass?

Using these on my N505 MD recorder, no EQ on it and I already have too many MDs too re-record everything EQed.

Quite a pity since there's a well-defined EQ to bring out the best in the EX70.

have you heard of the tape mod? put a piece of tape over the three little holes on the back of each earbud.

I think the tape mod is included in the silver mod...

undo silver mod:


but do:


tape on back holes (completely covered)

take out/off covering over the black tube...

put duct tape over it and push small holes in each phone with pin until desired sound is reached.

Don't worry Joe, I already saw your EQ mod spammed all over the Silver mod thread

a1leyez0nm3: Thats actually what I did, I read all the posts on the thread and decided to go without the foam in the tube as I didn't notice any difference with it in. All three holes are taped up on the back and I have about 2 medium sized holes for each phone. I screwed around with it for about an hour and decided I got the best results the way I have it now.... Just a little too much bass still. (Not MUCH but enough for me to complain

)

Then I believe you should pull out the drivers and trim another 4 or 5mm from their diameter to lower their bass response
