what is the normal $ ratio spent for all items in your no.1 setup - meaning you've had reached at some point when you can rest for a while... not buying, advanceing.

It's different for everyone. Sometimes you can find something for not too much money that you're happy with but personally I guess I use headphones more for portable use and my portable rig is around $1000-1200. You cold just the same be happy with a reasonably priced portable amp for about $200 (maybe a Xin Supermicro) and a pair of Etys and an iPod. That's about what I need to be happy on the go. But more and more, I've started using my phone and Etys since it's just "good enough" for most outings. For longer flights I take the iPod and amp along for the ride.
