I noticed that the gear list and other information in my public profile is gone.
Hopefully it will be carried over from the old forum. I really would hate to fill it in again.

I've already done that work. Luckily I could copy-paste it from another forum profile (although there in German).

Google your username and you should be able to retrieve the info via the cache page of the original forum. I just copy and paste most of the same stuffs back into my profiles.
 
Also, I notice the 'contact info' section is missing in the new forum.

I did copy - past from the Google cache. All done now
