Hi,I own an RS1+Minimax and I'm looking for a source.

I use a borrowed AlienDac as a source that is basically the same as running from onboard since the sounds is still crappy but allows me to plug the amp, I tested an borrowed an DacMagic and was just magical.

I have 400$ to spend in the source but I'm having an hard time to decide which one should go better with my rig.
The parasound should cost something around 270$

What are your suggestions

Read up more on the y2. FWIR, I would feel comfortable using it in a "Summit-Fi" rig with top-end cans like the HD800, Stax 02, etc.

Whatever you decide, I can't imagine you being unhappy... RS1+Minimax is fantastic.

For what it's worth, I love my DacMagic! Incredible sound and one of the best DACs under $1000.

It's very versatile and sounds great through USB!

DacMagic is nice, but the Parasound D/AC1100(which should be similar to D/AC1000) is really, really good.

I've not heard y2.

It is a better DAC than the uDac for sure, but for the price, the uDac is still very impressive!

Coming from previous DacMagic owner, I prefer y2. Never auditioned Parasound.

Really with summit-fi? Yes the RS1+minimax when I tried with the dacmagic just gave me the wow thing truly amazing.

I have not tried the Y2 yet... that's why I mentioned "FWIR" (from what I've read.) I know that the Parasound is getting a lot of votes but definitely read up on the Y2 and even try to get an audition of it. It appears to be a very serious audio tool that will not color the sound, but let you hear the perfect synergy of the RS1/Minimax combo!
