So I use an Astro Mixamp and want a new set of headphones since I am sick of the Astro A40's and their mediocre sound quality.

I am currently looking to spend under $100 for these and probably buy the zalman clip mic for my gaming.

Here are the 3 I am interested in.

Pioneer SE-A1000

Audio Technica ATH-AD700

Sennheiser HD555

Which of these would you recommend? Or if something else let me know as well?

Thanks in advance for the help.

HD555 modded into 595s is pretty hard to beat.

no, I'm not making that up. They'll also give you the added bonus of being better than the HD-555 and AD700 for music (to my ears).

They're $99 and can often be found for $70.

BTW they're actually more comfortable than the 555 and AD700.

DJ100 is also good for gaming. Has very good imaging, decent soundstage and lots of detail, but perhaps too  much bass for competitive gaming. It's what I'd use if I absolutely HAD to use a closed headphone for gaming and had to pay under $100.

Anyone cosign on the AKG's? I am slightly unfamiliar with them?

Also any other inputs on the 3 listed would help me as well. The Pioneers have gone back up to $88 so I am guessing they are not nearly as good a value at that price point.

I'm mostly using my 595's with the Astro mixamp, but I have used the AD700's as well.  The Ad700's do not fit my head at all, they kept sliding off my ears and I could never get a good seal.  My friend didn't have that issue, though he has a larger head than me.

More comfortable than the 555?  The HD 555 is VERY comfortable.  Although, comfort depends a lot on the person.  The soundstaging on the HD 555 is pretty good if it is anything like the HD 595.
