No, there are a couple of threads that exist over in the "Video Games Discussion' sub forum that you can use to help you choose a headset. Start with the "Mad Lust Envy's Gaming Guide" that is always active and usually at the top of the page. I was just directing you to the Gaming sub forum, a lot of great info and headset reviews there.

We can assume your plugging the headphones into a Windows PC?
Into the motherboard's on-board audio?
Budget?
Do you need a mic?

Save up more and get Philips SHP9500 with a V-MODA BoomPro, or Superlux HD668B, HD681 EVO or HD669 with an Antlion ModMic or Massdrop Minimic.

+1

You will always get the best value and quality this way. Also, with lower-end headphones your modmic or either of other "add on" mics will very likely out last several pairs of headphones so you when you replace or upgraded them, you can just transfer the mic over.

I've heard some good things about the "SHiPs". This guy is pretty entertaining:
But that's basically what you should look for in a good pair of gaming cans: comfort with good sound stage and positional accuracy.
...and they're available with free shipping for $50:

So with those + the vmoda boompro, you might be just over budget, but you'll have solution that should be many times better than "gaming" headsets costing 3X or more.

The VModa Boom Mic plugs into the 3.5 jack of headphones that will accept it. I personally found the 9500 not good for gaming, highs are too bright and not enough bass.

I use the LyxPro HAS-30 on a ModMic. $70 each so double your budget.

Status Audio CB1 plus the VModa Boom Pro will set you back just under $100 and would be a good setup

In the past I have used a Status Audio CB-1 with a VModa Boom Pro mic and an Audio Technica ATH-M40x with an AntLion Modmic 5.0...until the headphone upgrade bug bit me hard. LOL
