Hi,
I opened a Thread earlier about this subject and had chosed hd 555, but now my mother decided a trip to Germany so i delay the purchase and reconsider what will i buy. I need recomandations once more

Please help me on this one

So thats what i like:

First of all i want it for gaming so positioning should be exelent.
Second i dont like bassy and "boomy" sounds. I prefer clear and detailful sound.
Third still i like powerfull bass

I mean i dont want to be sound more bassy but i love when shakes in explotions, crashes and deep sounds just like in movie theathers.
Last i wont be using amplifier, only sond card (x-fi)

I dont know if hd555 can fullfill these but i can go to higher priced one but in mid-priced range.

Please remember i will found German products affordable, thanks

Im assuming you want open headphones because of the fact you dont want the boomy sound you may get with closed (closed will offer better isolation if it is important though).

As for open headphones the Sennheiser HD555 or HD595 are good choices. You could also try the Audio Technica AD700 or AD900. All these are supposed to be decent for gaming. The AD700 and AD900 will have less bass than the HD555 or HD595 from what I hear though, but are often considered better sounding than the Sennheiser. The Audio Technica also have a larger soundstage as well. Not sure which have better positional audio though.

Cant offer any recommendations for closed headphones though since Ive only used open.

I am also looking for some gaming head phones. I dont need a mic and i dont want 5.1 headphones, heard they were crap. I was thinking about getting Alessandro MS-1 headphones. My budget is $150. The Alessandro MS-1 I can get for $150.

Hi=]
The hd555 will meet all your requirements except when explosions happen and such, the can won't shake due to explosions or anything. But the bass is still powerful imo, and pretty detailed too.

I say the h555 is a great choice=]

Thanks for ideas.

What about beyerdynamics 880/990. They claim to have powerfull bass and good positioning.

Also sennheisers gamer series also claims powerfull bass.

And they all open.

Again, i want powerfull subwoofer like effects but i dislike overall bassy sounds more

Thanks

They would be ok but dont expect much in terms of soundstage or positional audio. Youd be better off gettin the HD555 or AD700 with your budget imo.

the 555's are absent in subwoofer effect during explosions (without an amp). With amp the 555's can shake at high volume, probably not ideal. They are relatively detailed on the mid to upper end though. I read "dry" as a description of these cans...i think that's a good description.

I judged the difference playing the IASCA competition cd - Toccata (SQ SPL tracks) or sine sweep 20-55hz.

i hate the overly bassy stuff also.

For the price, they are good especially for gaming purposes and VERY comfortable. They do well because the positioning is good, and for FPS that is all you need to have a large advantage against your competition. I have tried 650's in CS:S and it's way overkill. Nades going off are powerful and after a while it's too much detail for the purpose.

whats wrong with closed? they are IMO the best for gaming. isolated sound and powerful bass

the dt770pro-80 is good. found on ebay for ~$150, no amp needed

I have tried a closed headphone (pioneer se-m380) and it has the "boomy" sound which i choose to have none. So i agreed the idea that closed design is respansible but of course i dont know the rest.

Thanks,

I looked the reviews of rp-21 in headphonereviews.com and it says bass impact=9 bass quality=8 which discribes what i mean, i think.
Not how low it can sound either how netural is the sound is not important to me, im looking for something exiting to listen.

There is one think about rp-21, it says it has poor sound stage, is it mean it has poor positioning.

x2
I game, and I mean GAME (hours and hours a day) and the beyers are the most comfortable phones I've ever tried, you can have them on all day and still feel great. Also, you wont ever find more powerful bass in a stock phone, gunshots and explosions sound great. You dont need an amp to make them sound good, and the bass isn't overwhelming like people say. All around amazing pair of headphones and they aren't that expensive.
You will not be disappointed. Not nearly.
