thinking of getting this in a few days. Can u guys gimme some input on these? currently im using Sony MDR-180 headphones and the quality is ok i think. I need better gaming headphones....plus the microphone for talking trash

Well, this is just my thought (Maybe wrong) that we are getting maximum sonys low end infected people anyway. I am also one of those. It makes me search for better phones and I got this site.

If you want to spend more then look for their elder brothers.

Go for the Sennheiser PC 150 instead...it costs the same and comes from a real audio company.

I personally would take an HD 201 or PX100, and pair it up with a cheap $10 Logitech mic.

the AKG k240 Studio is great for games, which is one of the (many) reasons I got them. The HD555 and A500 are also good. You can get the Audio Technica A500 at audiocubes.com, and the Sennheiser HD555 and AKG k240 Studio at most online stores, like headphone.com and ttvj.com.

edit, on the cheap side of life the HD202 and 201 are also great for gaming.

do they have the vibration effect?? kuz i want somthing radical for gaming...plus the headset is a must. I dont want to spend more than 70 dollars on headphones. The other money goes for the computer

You dont need viberation effects if you go with the DT770 OR A500. The phones itself would shake your head by speaker inside. not by any viberating device. A500 lets you feel like 5.1 setup inside your phones while gaming.

You'll use the Microphone only for voice communication ??? Then $1 mic. can do the trick.

How does this work? Do you just leave the microphone on the desk or something? How good does it pick up your voice?

Aren't there some Sennheisers with mic included?

The PC150 has the mic on the side of the left headphone that you can put up along side your head or down by your mouth for games like Counter Strike.

I have it and the mic works great. No one has any issues hearing me loud & clear.

So true. I in fact use a mic I purchased for 99 cents, and it works very well for CS, Teamspeak. Google Talk etc. Sound pretty good too.

If he actually wants force feedback headphones and a headset, I'm not sure he's actually after sound quality, at least not in the same way that we are.

You can get a used A500 here in the for sale section for about $70, mabey a little more, and zalman makes a clip on mic you can use.

Agreed. I have the PC 150s. They're great for gaming, but that's just it. Gaming. Which is what you're looking for. They go for about $35 I think on newegg. But a friend has that force feedback headset, and it's crap.

Yes, I leave the mic on the desk. It works well.

The PC 150, PC 135...all the Sennheisers of the PC series have built-in mics. They're okay for what they are. They're probably the best audio quality you can get in a headset.

I use a 10 dollar logitech mic on my desk. Pics up fine. So you guys say the A500's are great for gaming? How about music? And is it 1/4" or 1/8" plug? This model right? I'm looking to get a new set of cans for gaming because my SR60's suck for it.
