I've got this idea while shopping around for new mattress. Eventually I settled for one made from latex. During the sales pitch I've been shown cubes of latex - it is an amazing material, very soft and "bouncy", can be made in different softness grades. Did anybody here tried to fashion a phones full size earpad (as opposed to ones on Ety's) from latex? I think it can be done, unfortunaly I don't have an access to any latex foam offcuts where I live.
And to take it even further, what about fusing latex with a thin layer of visco-elastic foam (the stuff Tempur hi-tech mattress is made from)? This stuff softens with temperature and in theory could conform to the shape of the earlobes. Get some velour on top...The impact on SQ is anybody's guess, but, maybe it is worth just trying for fun.
What do you modders guys think?

Someone once did a tempur-pedic pad and found it to be too bassy and smeared, IIRC...
