Selling my silver recabled iGrado's since I am almost only use electrostatic now. I found myself listening to the modified stax-001 system a lot more, so I'd like to sell the iGrado to fund the more extreme 001 mods.
phones have about 500hr on it, had been modded a bit though:
-- trimmed the headband, and added black velvet, to eliminate the "ear pinching". Now it just hangs on the ears. Very comfy.
-- took out the black foam behind the drivers, for more open sound.
-- includes three extra sets of pads: panasonic extra-thin, philips pleather (major bass boosting effect), and the quarter modded original padds. The padds on the phones right now is also panasonic extra-thin.
recable:
-- 24awg HGA .9999 silver teflon wires, in clear tecflex (the white color came from the white teflon insulation).
-- Terminated with Neutrik mini plug.
-- cable length is 3.5'
while the physical modds mostly improved comfort (taking out the foam behind the driver openned up the sound stage, but it was not a night/day difference) , the silver recable really brought out the potential of the drivers, very clear sounding, smooth and sweat.
