Fellow forum members,
I just upgraded a few older mics I was using (to EV RE20's

), and I don't want them to sit around unused. So I'm getting rid of them, one at a time.

This is a FS/IC notice for a good-condition Sennheiser MD421-II and MZS421 shockmount. The mic is in perfect working condition, and fair cosmetic condition. There are a few scratches on the grill from some pretty regular use. Sounds as good as ever, though. Used in a smoke-free studio. The shockmount front flange also has a small-ish chip in the paintwork. The shockmount bands on the mount tend to stretch and break with heavy, constant handling, so I'll be including a pack of extra bands with the mount. The case for the mic is in good condition, with a slight tape-marking on the front. Definately strong enough to take on the road.

Pictures say a thousand words (avg. ~250k)...

Sound wise, the 421's well known as an excellent broadcast mic with strong vocal characteristics. Put it in front of a vocal processor like the Omnia Toolvox line and you can turn pretty much anyone in front of the mic into a world-class sounding DJ. Works well for percussion and some guitar capture as well. Basically a good general mic to start with if you're just getting into home recording, podcasting, or any of those other *casting buzzwords.

Asking $220 + $10 for packaging and shipping to anywhere in the lower 48 states. I'll provide insurance on request, along with a tracking number for the package. Anywhere else, PM me and we can work something out. I'll accept pretty much anything, including Paypal, cash, check, PMO, etc. Meagre feedback is availible: http://www4.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=145054

A second mic of the exact same type, and same wear pattern, with the same goodies, is availible to interested buyers on request. Matching price.

Thanks for looking,
