Feel free to ignore me. I'm cranky.

I've listed quite a few things here and in other places. I've had bad experiences shipping oversees and to other countries, so I just don't do it anymore. I put in my ads, CONUS ONLY.

If I get 20 inquiries, 18 of then are "will you ship to my country?". Here, Ebay - everywhere!

Why? I put right in the ad that I won't, but I get inundated with requests to do so.
Are people hoping that maybe this once I didn't really mean it?

I think many people who put CONUS only will ship to other countries for the right price.

Canada really isn't a big step from CONUS.

Well, it's hard for someone overseas to buy used stuff, so sometimes it's always worth asking, just incase you can make a deal. I PM people who list CONUS and a few times they've changed their mind and decided to ship to me.

I live in Australia, there is one online store based here, however they mark up so badly, eg: Super Fi 3 = $150AUD, whereas I bought these from a Head-Fier for a shy under $50AUD. They listed CONUS, but then decided to post to me.

In the end, it's just up to you to either make it uber obvious (CONUS ONLY. NO INTERNATIONAL), in big red.

Thats my point-of-view, I wish I could live in the CONUS just to buy some stuff I want, however, so many people aren't willing to ship overseas, so it makes it hard.

The problem is the hassle involved in the process, for example, first customs, they tend to be a real pain in the ass if your package for any reason get in their hands. I had literally three weeks a package from Italy the last time Rudi ship me one, they asked me for so many papers to fill, that we did believe that the package were lost, period...Can you believe that I had to fill an FCC document for a LED, as the said that is was an emissive device...a freaking LED...!!!

You have no idea of how many forms we had to fill, so if you limit the shipping inside the US you eliminate at least this possible hassle.
Also if the package is missing then both countries tend to wash the hands and blame the other, and you are in the middle of nobody knows anything about the package....then if you open an investigation it takes forever to end....Adn the funny thing is that nobody ask you what is inside the package while you ship it, and insure it, and paid for the insurance, but then, when the package is lost, the first thing they do is to look in an stupid list to see if the item is, or not, allowed to be shipped, then my question: why nobody did that while I was paying for the service, now while I was supposed to receive the service, you do it, great!!!....

Not anymore sorry...

Pretty much this.

UK ebay sellers seem to express their distaste for the question by quoting -L-30 for trans-atlantic shipping. The jerks.

I think they do it because the worst that can happen is you'll say no or not answer. I can definitely understand why you've stopped shipping overseas though.

Cost is a factor but the forms for me at least are quite painless. All I have to do is fill in a customs form. Check either gift or goods or whatever and put a value

easy

Yeah, only takes maybe 2 lines more than regular shipping. I can understand EU much more though, since they seem to want to restrict things coming in with taxing through the nose.

Because there are others who are willing to make an exception to ship overseas when we ask nicely (and have good feedback) and they are reasonable persons. A lot of my purchases from the US actually came from ads that originally said "ConUS only".

Chances are I will inadvertently send you one such request (if you post something I want anyway) so please understand that there are many sellers, beside you, who are willing to make an exception under the right circumstances.

Regards.

People in Europe will ask even if the auction or sale is nominally CONUS because frankly, theres never been a better time to buy from stateside. The USD is at its lowest rate in decades against the Euro, the Pound and the peanut.

Shipping over the pond with Parcelforce costs a pretty penny, even for smaller lighter parcels.

Because most sellers writing CONUS will ship "anywhere" at additional cost.
At least thats my experience, and why I sometimes ask the seller if he want to ship my way...

Same city, same country, same sentiments. I think it helps that Australia is not restrictive (unlike EU) so, as LawnGnome and fatman711 indicate, it shouldn't be too much extra effort at the sender's end.

And I add my thanks to those who have trusted international shipping for me - you've provided me with access to gear I would have struggled to acquire otherwise, and, being from Head-Fi-ers, gear in excellent sonic condition

What he said..

Apologies if it annoyed you though

But honestly, the only difference is a small customs form and some additional cost that i'm sure the buyer will cover
