Well, my love affair with the Alessandro MS-1 is coming to a close. They sound amazing at the price point, but I never use them (less than 10 hours in a month). At home it is too loud to enjoy such an open headphone, and at work - open is not an option. I seem to be forced to use my marshmellows for everything. So, I need some advice on where to go next - I am thinking that I want to go closed.

I like to game (mostly FPS), and enjoy music mostly rock/metal. Around my pricepoint seems to be -

Audio-Technica ATH-A500, A700, PRO500, PRO700, ES7

and I can't really seem to find any other ~$100 closed circumaural phones that suit my needs.

Please help!

ooh I didn't even mention comfort, that is a BIG deal. Especially during long CounterStrike crackout sessions

I used to have some AKG K240S' and they were super comfy, but they were open as well..

beyer 250's. 2 cent's worth.
got mine for 990 swe kronors.
just over 100$ u.s. sure you could find them new/used for same price/less
Best closed cans ive heard.. rape k81dj,s my next option.

Not such a fan of them anymore, as comfort played a part for me as well.

beyer dt 250 *80 Ohm

I play Kingpin (1998 fps) game every second day, and they serve well for bass'y shotty .
serve well for most gun's..(and you can hear plebs pee ez walking around, without WH)
I played cod,css,Q3, It handles all them well.

least give them a try-out if you get a chance..
