Anyone know of a free ripper that can rip CD's up to 48x? If there is no such thing, what is the cheapest most efficient program that does so?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why do you need to rip at 48x? At that speed data would probably be lost. Use EAC to make sure to get all the data.

What is the fastest and most efficient burner EAC? How fast does it go?

Sorry if I mis-posted. But what I really wanted to say was, what is the fastest BURNING software that is cheap or free and very fast? I am sick of burning CD's with my Musicmatch and it takes 20-30 minutes to get 80 minutes of music on the CD. Where can I get a much faster burner that is either free, or cheap and efficient?

To use foobar's CD writer, you need to have Nero (demo or full) installed.

I like to use XCDRoast, but I think it's Linux only. Does a great job.

For music theres always itunes, free and easy. For data discs, i use Nero.

Are you sure? I don't think EAC can burn CDs, it only reads them.

You can burn CDs, with EAC, although I have not had much luck and find it confusing. Burrrrn can decode MP3s using LAME as EAC does.

EAC can burn and rip. To write cds, it is under Tools, Write CD-R.

Burrrn is my favourite, you can use any decoder you want with it.

I'm not a fan of nero, esp for burning audio cds, IIRC they use their own decoders.

Burrrn is also free.
