Frank Black's new album?

Has anyone heard it? Is it worth picking up?

I have it. It's a solid but not great album. If you like him then you will like the album but I would not reccomend it for someone new to him.

Atom in my heart and lone child are the two standout songs. Overall though it just seems a little soft compared to his earlier stuff especailly Teenager of the year

it's a nice album, if you like him i'd buy it.

Just listened to it the other day...if you're looking for The Pixies, you'll need to look elsewhere. It's a good album, and I'll probably buy it (I listened on Yahoo! Music) soon. It's mellow, with a bit of country twang...think Ryan Adams with a splash less country influence and I think you're pretty close.

FWIW, in a recent interview Frank mentioned the album was recorded in 4 days with Nashville session musicians... it sounded like this was material he wanted to get out there ASAP before working on another Pixies album.

I really like that it doesn't sound like the Pixies - the guy's a talented songwriter with a wide range.
