I've had my pair for 6 +/- years and never considered selling them. Used them as my daily for about 3 of those years.

I had the Denon 1000s for a few weeks and then returned them. They're great headphones for the money and so comfortable but they don't isolate you from external noise. This was a deal breaker for me.

If you don't like them you can always sell them at zero loss here. These sell for > $150 used here. Think of it as free rental

Not exactly a review, but definitely a good sample of people's opinions. I've had a pair for just about a month and I find they're really very good, even with the stock cable. I mostly use them driven directly from my 5.5G iPod and I really have heard things that I haven't heard before in songs I've had for quite some time. I rip everything in Apple lossless; no downloading from the Apple Store or anywhere else for that matter. But as another poster noted, they do need burn-in. give them at least 100 hours before you form any opinions and swap the ear pads to the velor ones for both comfort and SQ.

How much do they normally retail for? Been wondering too how it compares to the PX-100 & HD-650 (far apart in class, I know, but it should give me a good indication of where the HD-25 stands).

Street price is usually $199, but you can get them at B&H Photo for less than that.
