Just wanted to let you guys know that thanks to a fellow Head-Fi'er I found a supposedly good LOD for the X1050. It's over at Taobao and if you don't have a direct Chinese contact you can order from there through a middleman like, for example, Popbuying.

This is my first time ordering from TB and I'm anxious to see if it all works out. I do hope the LOD is a true line out. Will keep you guys (&girls) up to date!

this LOD work for all Sony walkman that support WM Port , which mean sony x1000, sony s540, E430

Ha ha, yeah, I'm keenly awaiting that one... I hope the ALO one is available soon since I'd rather send him my cash instead of overseas. Plus, it'll go very well with my ALO Rx amp.

I still haven't had the time to test the LOD. It seems like the real deal though since the volume control is disabled on the player. I have used it on the aux-port on my car radio and that sounded much cleaner than the HO. As soon as I get my hands on a decent amp (TTVJ portable is coming) I will post a review of the LOD.

Negakinu-
Can you provide any further details about your ordering place?

Also, how's the listening going?

Guys, please...

I don't know how much more info on the store I can give you. I ordered it at Taobao.com through a Chinese middleman/sales translator for about $40 incl. shipping & fee. The description says it supports a whole bunch of Sony players but the S639 isn't among them. Please, check the Google Translate-link in my opening post for all the information you could possibly need. It seems to work fine as a true line-out since all volume control on the X is disabled as soon as you connect the LOD. I have plugged it into my car stereo's aux and Fiio E5 to see if it actually transmits sound and it does this properly. I still haven't received my headphone amplifier so I can't write a review that will do the LOD justice though.

I will take some pictures of it this weekend and include them in this thread to at least prove it actually arrived. It came in a pretty box.

Patience! Or buy the damn thing yourselves if you're in a hurry.

Well! Finally I have found a suitable amp for this LOD: the Headstage Arrow 12HE. Review coming soon! Have to burn this one in some more. First thing I notice is that I will never listen to the headphone-out again. I swear. I mean, I'm not the guy to exaggerate but I do believe I am hearing the best portable SQ in my (limited) experience so far. The crossfeed and bass-boost do wonders for my RE0. The biggest difference compared to the headphone out is the improved soundstage, separation and "depth" of the music. I can't imagine the Sflo2 sounding any better. (but I'd love to find out!)

Setup is:

- Sony X1050 16gb
- true LOD, bought through Taobao-seller.
- Headstage Arrow 12HE
- Head Direct/Hifiman RE0 with about 100+ hours on 'em.

Stay tuned!
