Been doing the fish thing for about 2 months now. I've got my eye on a 75 gallon and a stand now. It's as bad a hobby as headphone...

Here's my tank...

20 gallon tank
5 Silver Dollars...
2 Dwarf Gorami
1 Pleco

Silver Dollars, Black skirt Tetra, Red Gorami. Strange thing... the Black Skirt Tetra goes almost transparent when he get's p.o'd. This was right after a water change.

Blue Dwarf Gorami running silent... running deep.

Fish tanks are pretty awesome. There's a local chinese restaurant that has a huge one with tons of large fish, my guess is it's about 25 feet long. We have a pretty simple setup at my house with a turtle, a fish, and a few snails to help keep the tank clean. The turtle usually eats the fish so the current one is pretty aggressive so hopefully it'll last a while

You really are good with the photoshop, archosman. First Jaws in the background and now this; I'm very impressed. How did you learn to do it?

For once it's not mine! How did I learn it?

I used to be an assistant editor (and still do sometimes!) several years ago. We had a stillstore which is a computer that displays graphics/images at roughly 720x488 for televison. On the still store there was a paint program that allowed me to clone, build an alpha so you could key the graphic, and touch up/build logos as well. Eventually I ended up pestering the Graphics department with a few things that I couldn't do... so one of them thought I should have a copy of Photoshop (4.5 or 5.0) on the Mac in the edit bay. Fortunately for me the tool set on the stillstore was very similar to Photoshop... so it was an easy transition for me. Never have taken a class... although the Graphics department helped me with the basics. Every once in a blue moon our head of graphics would see what I was foooling with at the time and say "How did you do that?" He would stop me, look at what actions I had performed, and copy them so he could use them later. A good way to really learn Photoshop is goofing around like that and restoring photographs.

The tank my GF and I have in our apt. It's 60G and currently has an angelfish, pleco, giant snail, and some random striped fish (whose name escapes me) in it right now. We have two other tanks but they are a lot smaller and also contain various other angelfish.

I saw a great looking Beta at Oski's place this weekend. I used to have a Beta back when I was in grad school, those lil buggers are very calming, even tho they are probably personally PO'd all the time lol.

This is what I want to do with my next tank. Something like a more real world look... with plenty of plants and places to hide. There is someone on Aquaria Central that has made a black & white tank that's really cool...

Thanks. Its just an old goldfish bowl we had lying around. The yellow cichlids in my tank are breeding, so we put the babies in that goldfish bowl.

I've had fish tanks at different times during my life since I was in middle school. I was just with my son buying crickets for his gecko and frogs and we started looking at the tanks. I saw a nice 90 gallon tank. My wife hasn't warmed up to the idea yet. I think I may have to start with maybe a 29 or 55 and work my way up, like i did with my audio gear.

I haven't decided to go salt water again or start a cichlid tank. I am leaning towards cichlids. Salt water tanks require more work and losing a fish (which happens oftern) can get costly.
