How about the inner plastic plates? Is it possible to get them?

Not that I've found. You could hit eBay for a cheap pair of pads and rip the plates out of them I guess. Something tells me you could hit a craft store and manufacture them for far less.

I'm running my original Denon AH-D2000 pad locking rings with J-Money Lambskin pads designed for the D2000 on my TH-X00 Purplehearts. At least for the Purplehearts I'm liking the pads better than stock....much more comfortable than stock plus a slightly cleaner sound - slight loss in bass presence/impact doesn't matter much at all with the rediculous presence it has stock. Still has insanely exceptional bass/sub-bass with the J-Money pads, but sounds slightly cleaner across the board with a sub-bass extension that seems a little more improved.

I was under the impression j-money closed shop. Think the alpha pads or ZMF Omni pads would suit this?

I never liked Alpha Pads on TH-X00 for some reason, but I'm pleasantly surprised by how ZMF Omni Pads improves my TH-X00. Not just more comfortable, but also sounds more controlled and cleaner, while not changing the TH-X00 signature much (it slightly tamed the high though). :)

These are ~ 8 year old pads I got for the D2000's when you could buy D2000's brand new. The J-money pads are basically very similar to the stock D2000 pads, just a little more internal room for your ears and slightly deeper. The stock D2000 pads are in turn slightly larger and more comfortable than the stock TH-X00 pads.

The J-Money pads on the TH-X00 (only pertinent pictures I have, really need to take a better ones):

Does anyone else like their TH-X00 more than the HD600? I feel like after listening to them side by side, the TH-X00 has a much better bass and also sounds less "veiled". I mean like the HD600's vocals sound great but a little bit stuffy like there is a thin sheet of paper separating me from the voices. Maybe they need to be modded?? or could a pure silver cable change this ?

This was done using the same amp (Schiit Asgard 2) and not a cross-comparison with my Bottlehead Crack I also own. I think the HD600s are also more suited for OTL tube amps so next time I will compare them on their own respective amps (solid state vs. tube).

I prefer the HD650 over HD600, and have varying opinion of which is better, TH-X00 or HD650, dependent on the amplifier.

Through Jodie, I much prefer the HD650. Through Moon NEO 230HAD, the TH-X00 sings, while the HD650 only sounds moderately good. You mentioned tube - I have a SET not an OTL. Through the DNA Sonett 2, I really cannot chose. Both headphones sound really good.

I think the Treble on the HD600 is more controlled and neutral than the TH-X00. The X00's treble is too much on the fun side.
