Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review

I've seen people mentioned EMU a lot and I still can't quite get what they do. Is that a company that mods the T50RP like everyone else?

E-MU is a branch of Creative Labs that uses the same Foster drivers and housing for their full size headphones. No modding, just their variant of the Fostex TH series (a' la the old school Denon DX000 line).

OMG this is totally new to me. What was the last Denon that use Fostex driver/housing?

PH delivered on 8/13! Too bad I'm on the other side of the country until this Wednesday. Glad to hear impressions have been sounding good to hfiers right out of the box.

So at the moment if we want that Fostex goodness we can choose from Fostex, Denon and EMU.

Wow

I'm dying from choices

Seriously though, how much did the EMU go for and do these compare to our beloved THX00 (specifically the Mahogany version)?

Denons are discontinued. Only current variations are the Fostex and EMU.

EMU's sold for $449 on Massdrop just recently. All three woods (rosewood, teak, and ebony) were the same price. You will have to search how they compare. Never heard the EMU but read plenty comparisons in this thread and on the Massdrop EMU discussion page.

But this Stands are awesome! Wonderfully crafted and well constructed with beatiful Materials.

Out of the box it was bass light. After 12 hours of burn in, the bass has filled out some, but the sub-bass still needs more oomph.
