I love the treble, prefer it to the treble of the 500, but I am driving the 600 from a tube amp.

Love the phones just wish it was a pinch less aggressive in the treble.
But there is a hope, switching from Sharp to Slow filter on Yulong DA8 helped tremendously. I will need to play with filters on Vega too, it has at least two with stronger treble roll off.

I thought that was the best thing to do to improve sound. I do not want to go neutral so if balanced means that then i don't want that. I want a cable that provides gobs of bass and fun. What cable or videos that.

I am new and appreciate the help.

If sonic is your only concern, stock cable is the only cable you'll ever need. By balanced I meant XLR terminated cable for use with balanced amp, the only situation the stock SE cable wouldn't work, but even then it can be easily reterminated for pennies at home. Save your money for something that really improves the sound, not mind trickling voodoo.

Anyone here in Hong Kong know where I can go to try both the TH600 and the TH900?

I think I got the green light to go for the TH900 but would like to try the 600 so that I can add a home amp to go with it. I have been eying the Audio-GD 11.32 since I only have portable dac/amp now, E17 and E18.

thanks for the link. I thought Fostex made a reduction to their suggested price. When they first came out, they were about $2000 US but adjusted recently to $1500. $15,800 HK is slightly over $2,000 US.

Its X'mas , it does not hurt to try to ask for discount if you know what i mean. Good luck with your purchase!

You have a point. It's just that their starting point is so high. Makes me skeptical about how reasonable they will be when negotiating .... Kind of like "you can never win an argument when your adversary is an unreasonable person".
