Anecdotally, I feel like the Walnut F1 (300mw max at unspecified impedance) and Phatlab Phantasy (200mw @ 75 ohms) have plenty of power, while my Shanling M3s (130mw @ 32 ohms single-ended) and TEAC HA-P50 (160mw @ 32 ohms) sound good but suffer a little bit in terms of dynamics in comparison.

But I haven't tried a more powerful amp yet, so I might feel quite differently at some point down the road, and join the folks who insist you must use an amp like the Bas-X A-100 that can put 8 watts into 50 ohms : )

My modded mk3 compared to T-X0.
More details in the link in my signature.

Are there any reviews comparing the Argon mk3 to the original Argons? I did some searching (both here and on google) but came up empty-handed.

Just got my new Master & Dynamic 3.5mm -> Lightning audio cable. Of course, they sell them primarily as accessories for their headphones, but I bought it just to use it with other headphones that use 3.5mm on the headphone end. On a lark, I tried them with my T20RP MK3, and I was surprised that the little DAC/amp in the Master & Dynamic cable actually drives them decently.... nothing ridiculously great, but definitely enjoyable!

Just had a set of T40 Mk3s I picked up used modified by Peterek aka Verbessen....bass enhanced, treble tamed slightly.

I have a set he made for me too! I ended up getting addicted to mods after that...

So glad to see people are still interested in modding the t50's :). I just decided to add a balanced cable and replace the cups of my ones to the Alpha Dog printed ones. All the bits on order. The printer is going nuts printing the cups and baffles.

Where are the files for those cups/baffles? They should fit the other mk3s if I'm not mistaken. I own the T40s and I'm on the verge of buying my first 3D printer.

20180528_080427.jpg Finished my t50MK3 build using the Alpha 3d printed cups. First I lined them in felt and the base was too extended. so I removed that and replaced the packing with wool. Loving them now.

I am considering t50rp or even saving for t60rp. I have a Fiio X5 2nd gen. Would that provide enough power? How would you describe the sound compared to Beyerdynamic Dt 770 80?
