so, what most of you guys are using? reason? (please no argument which is better or not)

mine is 192kbps/VBR/aac

ALAC because its easy to rip my cds into apple lossless using itunes, i also have an 80gb ipod so i have plenty of space

Mostly ALAC (because I'm too lazy to convert to mp3 just to put on my iPod) and mp3s of mixed bitrates. When I'm ripping myself, it's either FLAC (then converted to ALAC) or V0 mp3.

I use Itunes specifically for managing my iPod's MP3 library, I manage the original FLACs as a Foobar library at the moment.

160/atrac3+ on sony nw-a1200. i used to use 256 but ive come to realize when i'm on the go it doesn't really make much difference so i opted for longer battery life. 128 is actually fine for some songs but for consistency and ease of transfer i just stick to one rate.

MP3 Lame, constant bitrate of 320kbps on my Sony NWZA829, but may consider dropping quality of rips to 256kbps or one lower even to accomodate more music on my 16GB DAP in future.
I also rip all my CD's to .FLAC, before converting to import to DAP.

160 kbps is the accidental result of default CD rip Bitrate in iTunes.
